Day 15. Its Day 15!
Still here. Still skiing. Still trying.
It's hard to manage these types of huge objectives (like skiing to the South Pole alone) over such a great span of time and distance. And I am trying my best to stay focused... as well as distracted. It's a delicate balance, of course, but I'm outside and skiing 14 hours a day and time can sometimes drag on v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
But I have a good system that eats up both time and distance somewhat efficiently. My entire ski day is broken up into one and a half hour ski shifts. Then a snack. Half way through the day, hot soup. At the end of the day? Tent!
And that's it.
Needless to say, my Citizen watch is one of my most important pieces of gear!
Maria delivered another epic pep talk via my Garmin inReach yesterday which helped me immensely. Not only is she taking care of our two kids while I'm gone, but she is also taking care of me! I feel very lucky for her support.
In related news, I'm looking forward to reaching 85 degrees south, the halfway point of my journey. The unfortunate circumstance I face, however, is that I am more than half way through my supplies.
