Antarctic Gear List
You'd probably be surprised to learn that I don't generally do a lot of list making prior to my expeditions. Generally, I do most of the tallying in my head, laying my gear out and visually checking and rechecking it. It doesn't seem like it's a very good strategy but to date, I've never really forgotten anything that I might need on an expedition. Maybe it's because I bring too much, but personally, I don't think so. My goal for any adventure is to bring the littlest possible gear that I need while still being safe and with adequate redundancy. My basic philosophy is right not light. I am very (very mindful) of the weight of all my gear, but in an extreme environment like Antarctica, it also has to function no matter the conditions.
Regardless, I thought I would change things up a bit and provide a list of gear that I am taking on my Last South Expedition. I hope you like it :).
