Day 31. Polar Potpourri
It was a little mix of everything today. We started in the same whiteout and blowing snow as yesterday. Then we hit some bad pressure ridges which transitioned into a series of cracks in the ice one of which was actively getting larger.
We saw two sets of polar bear tracks (or the same one going in opposite directions) and arctic fox tracks as well.
We spent also few minutes watching and listening to two sheets of ice grind into each other making a chug chug sound.
Overall, a pretty eventful day on the ice.
Distance traveled: 11.5 nautical miles
Image: Ryan snapped this shot of me jumping across on of today's many cracks in the ice.
