Day 45: Almost
With each step, we are getting farther and farther away from you. Friends, family and home have been slowly fading away the longer we are here. Our lives have have been filtered into a few basic things: eat, sleep and ski. We have become completely utilitarian.
Still, we are finally allowing ourselves to get excited about the prospect of finishing.
We thought today might be a good day to review the past year while we skied Unfortunately, a biting -40 wind chill made objective reflection on our lives fall substantially lower on the priority list. Staying warm occupied most of our time.
We are celebrating New Year's huddled in a cold tent. It is overcast our frosty goggles and parka ruffs barely thawing out. While we are excited to see the new year arrive, I don't think our tired bodies will allow us to see it.
To read the Center for Biological Diversity's full perspective on what we needed, what we got at Copenhagen and why, and what happens next, go to: http://www.biologicaldiversity.org/programs/climate_law_institute/350_or_bust/copenhagen/what_happened_in_copenhagen.html

Remember, it's cool to be cold. Save the Poles. Save the planet.
